2. Essential cookies
TheJobSort uses essential cookies to:
- create, refresh, and protect your signed-in session;
- return you safely after authentication; and
- confirm a short-lived privacy or account deletion request.
These cookies are needed for requested account and security features. Blocking them can prevent sign-in or account controls from working.
3. Measurement tools
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic. It does not use analytics cookies. It may process the page visited, referrer, general location, device type, operating system, and browser details in aggregated form.
We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure page speed and Core Web Vitals. These measurements help us find performance problems.
When advertising measurement is enabled, the Google tag loads on the homepage, public guides, legal pages, and one isolated purchase-confirmation relay. Advertising storage, analytics storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization are denied by default. Google may still receive a cookieless measurement signal containing public page, referrer, device, browser, and general location details. Advertising-data redaction is enabled.
The purchase relay appears only after the server verifies a paid Stripe order. It uses a short-lived essential cookie to carry an opaque order reference to a clean URL, confirms the current account owns the paid order, sends the actual value, ISO currency, and an order-specific transaction reference, then clears the cookie. The reference prevents duplicate purchase counts. It does not send a name, email, account identifier, résumé, career fact, job description, cover letter, filename, or Stripe identifier.
The Google tag does not load on sign-in, signup, account, billing, administrator, or signed-in product pages. It does not receive content from those pages.
4. Third-party services
If you choose Google sign-in or open Stripe Checkout, those services may set their own cookies on their domains. Their notices and settings apply to those cookies.
5. Your controls
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you may not be able to sign in, keep a session active, or complete a protected account action.
On this Cookie Notice page, Cookie choices lets you allow optional measurement or keep essential-only use. All four Google consent signals default to denied. If you actively allow optional measurement, advertising storage, analytics storage, and advertising user data become available for measurement, while advertising personalization remains denied. Choosing essential only, including after an earlier opt-in, sends a denied update for every signal. The versioned choice is stored in a private first-party cookie for up to 180 days and is requested again when the linked policy or consent contract changes.
