1. Who this notice covers
This notice applies to visitors, account holders, and people who contact us about The Job Sort. It covers personal information handled by OU Group Pty Ltd through the website and service.

2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
- identity and account details, such as your email address, display name, and sign-in provider;
- career information, uploaded résumés, work history, education, skills, achievements, and answers;
- job descriptions, application details, approved drafts, and generated files;
- payment status, transaction references, amount, currency, and refund details;
- service events, device details, browser details, approximate location, and performance data; and
- messages, privacy requests, and support information you send to us.
We do not need sensitive information for ordinary use. Do not provide sensitive information unless it is necessary for your résumé and you choose to include it.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, upload a file, answer a question, purchase access, or contact us. We also collect limited technical information when you use the service.
We may receive account and payment information from service providers, including Supabase, Google, and Stripe.
4. Why we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account;
- build your career record and provide résumé features;
- process payments and manage paid access;
- answer requests and provide support;
- detect abuse, protect the service, and investigate faults;
- measure service use and performance; and
- meet legal, accounting, and regulatory duties.
5. Artificial intelligence
We send limited content to OpenRouter and selected model providers when an AI feature needs it. We require zero-retention processing and disable provider data collection where supported. AI outputs, model details, usage records, and links to source evidence may be stored in your account.
Do not enter information that is not needed for the requested résumé task.
6. When we disclose information
We disclose information only as needed to operate the service, complete a request, protect users, or comply with law. Our service providers include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, and private file storage;
- OpenRouter and selected model providers for AI processing;
- Stripe for payments and refunds;
- Vercel for hosting, traffic measurement, and performance data;
- Resend for service and launch emails; and
- Google when you choose Google sign-in.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Overseas processing
Some providers process information outside Australia. Overseas recipients are likely to be located in the United States. A selected AI provider or hosting region may involve another country. We use provider controls and contractual terms to protect information when it is processed overseas.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep account and career information while your account is active. Confirmed account deletion removes active career data, private files, provider identity, and sessions. Some backup copies may remain for a limited recovery period before deletion.
Billing records are separated from career content and may be retained for up to seven years for accounting and legal duties. Privacy action records contain limited event details and are removed after 24 months.
9. Access, correction, export, and deletion
Signed-in users can review stored data, download a portable account export, and start permanent account deletion from the account privacy controls. You can correct career information in the service or contact us for help.
We may need to verify your identity before we act on a privacy request.
10. Security
We use access controls, private storage, encryption in transit, short-lived download links, account isolation, and operational monitoring. No system can guarantee complete security.
12. Questions and complaints
Contact us at info@thejobsort.com to ask a question, request access or correction, or make a privacy complaint. Include enough detail for us to investigate. We will confirm receipt and respond within a reasonable time.
