Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and OU Group Pty Ltd when you use TheJobSort. The short version: your job search is yours, your assistant works for you, nothing goes out without your yes, and you stay responsible for what you send.
1 This agreement
These terms apply when you visit or use TheJobSort, including the website, your workspace, the connection your AI assistant uses, and any paid plan. By creating an account, signing in or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
If you use the service for someone else, you confirm you have their authority to agree to these terms for them.
2 Who provides the service
TheJobSort is provided by OU Group Pty Ltd, an Australian proprietary limited company (ABN 59 683 269 963, ACN 683 269 963), with its registered office at 81-83 Campbell Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia. “We”, “us” and “our” mean OU Group Pty Ltd.
3 Your account
You must be at least 18 and live in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada to open an account. You sign in with a code we email you, so keep access to your email secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
One account is for one person's job search. You must give us an email address you control.
4 What TheJobSort does, and what it does not
TheJobSort is a workspace for your job search: applications, companies, contacts, tasks, notes, documents and the facts you have confirmed about yourself. You can connect an AI assistant you already use, such as Claude Code, so it can read and update your workspace for you.
TheJobSort does not run artificial intelligence of its own. Searching, writing and other work done by your assistant is done by that assistant's provider, under your agreement with them.
We do not guarantee interviews, offers or any outcome, and we do not give legal, immigration, recruitment, tax or financial advice.
5 Your connected assistant
When you connect an assistant, you authorise it to act in your workspace with the access you approve. It acts for you, not for us. You are responsible for choosing an assistant you trust, for your agreement with its provider, and for what it does with your permission.
TheJobSort asks you before an assistant can record a submission, and it never sends a message for you: you send every message yourself. Approvals cover one action each. Read what your assistant prepares before you approve or send it.
You can disconnect an assistant at any time in your workspace. Disconnecting stops its access to TheJobSort; it does not delete anything your assistant's provider already holds. Ask them about that.
6 What you send is your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of everything you send or submit, including résumés, cover letters, application answers and messages, whoever drafted them. Do not claim experience, qualifications, work rights or other facts you cannot support.
Job boards, employers and other websites have their own terms. You must follow them, including any rules about automated access or bulk applications. TheJobSort is not responsible for those sites or for decisions they make.
7 Your content
You keep ownership of everything you and your assistant put in your workspace.
You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, copy, process and display that content only as needed to run, secure and support the service for you. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to backups and legal duties described in the Privacy Policy.
Your workspace may hold information about other people, such as recruiters and contacts. You confirm you have a lawful reason to keep it, that you will use it only for your job search, and that you will not store sensitive information about them, such as health, religion or politics.
8 Fair use
You must not use TheJobSort to:
- break a law or another person's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
- create false credentials, employment history or identity information;
- send unsolicited bulk messages or spam;
- upload malicious code, try to get into another account, or test our security without permission;
- get around plan limits, rate limits or other protections, for example with several accounts;
- overload, scrape, copy or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it; or
- resell or share access to the service without our written permission.
9 Plans, limits and payment
The free plan includes the core workspace with fair limits: 1 connected assistant, up to 100 active jobs, 60 assistant requests an hour and 500 saves a day. Limits protect the service for everyone and may change with notice.
The paid plan raises those limits (currently up to 5 assistants, 2000 active jobs, 600 requests an hour and 5000 saves a day) and adds routines, automatic map places and document storage. It costs A$14, £7, US$9 or C$12 a month, renewing until you cancel, or A$36, £19, US$24 or C$33 for 3 months as a pass that does not renew. Prices include tax and are shown again before you pay.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Cancellations and refunds follow our Refund Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
10 Our service and brand
We and our licensors own the service, software, design, the name TheJobSort, the Merv mascot and related material. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for your own job search. Names and logos of other companies belong to them and do not mean they endorse us.
11 Availability and changes
We work to keep TheJobSort available and your data safe, but the service is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable. Keep your own copy of anything important: you can download everything in your workspace at any time from Settings.
We may change or stop parts of the service. We will give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, where practicable. We may update these terms; we will post the new version here, change the date above, and tell you before a material change takes effect when the law requires it.
12 Ending your use
You can stop using TheJobSort at any time, download your workspace, and delete your account yourself in Settings. Deletion is permanent and takes effect straight away. Cancel any monthly plan first, in Manage billing, so you are not charged again. We may limit, suspend or close an account when reasonably needed to protect people or the service, to enforce these terms, or to comply with law. Where practicable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to download your data.
13 Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the actions of your assistant or its provider, for third-party websites, or for loss caused by content you sent without reviewing it. Where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. This section does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
14 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you live in another country, the mandatory consumer protections of that country still apply to you.
